Clearance Form For Nurses: It is Unlawful to Stop Selling Clearance Form – GRNMA
Clearance Form For Nurses: Dr. David Tenkorang-Twum, General Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has
stated that the government’s prohibition on the selling of clearance forms is unlawful. The general secretary revealed this on a TV3 programme.
The United Kingdom just placed Ghana on the Red List, which indicates that they will not be actively recruiting from Ghana or other nations. Nurses, on the other hand, can look for work on their own.
According to the General Secretary, the country’s inclusion on the red list would not deter nurses from seeking greener pastures because the majority of them apply themselves.
He went on to say that he is not glad that nurses are leaving, but that there are certain push factors, such as bad service conditions and pay.
He expressed worry over the Ministry of Health’s ban on the selling of clearance forms since November 2022.
He argued that this was not the solution to the large exodus of nurses and that the government should instead find new and practical ways to keep the nurses.
