CSSPS offers steps to address issues with 2023 school placement.
CSSPS offers steps to address issues: According to the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) Secretariat and the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), they have put adequate measures in place to address school placement issues that students may report after receiving their computerised school placements for the 2022 BECE.
According to an official of the Free SHS Secretariat, the effective measures are to drastically minimise the high rate of complaints received during and after the placements into public Senior High Schools.
Among other measures to solve the school placement issues, he said are call centres that will be established call to receive complaints from the general public particularly, students with difficulties with regards to the SHS placement.
The Free SHS official also indicated some personnel have been trained in good customer service skills and will attend to people who would be inquiring, seeking clarification and other information on the 2023 school placement.
‘Apart from the call centres, we are going to make good use of the traditional media such as television stations, radio and newspapers to communicate crucial information that might be beneficial to all during the placement,” he noted.
As part of the measures, the Free SHS staff said a national and regional solution centre across the country will be established to provide real-time support to prospective students and the public on the computer school placement.
According to him, reported placement challenges by stakeholders, parents and students will be solved instantly by a technical team from the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) and Free SHS Secretariat.
Asked when the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ghana Education Service (GES) will release the 2023 computer school placement, he said the public second-cycle school placements are to be expected before March 1, 2023.
“For now, I cannot confirm the school placement release date but considering how far the placing process has reached members of the general public especially students are to expect the school placement release before March 1,” he said.
A total of 552,288 candidates made up of 276,999 males and 275,289 females entered the school examination. Out of the total number of candidates who participated in the national examination, 4,309 candidates were absent.
