Jay Bahd’s nomination in the Best New Artiste category is one of the entries that has attracted a lot of public interest. After much discussion, the Board decides that Jay Bahd is not new to the scheme due to his joint candidature for Collaboration of the Year in 2021 for Yaw Tog’s “Sore.”
He is therefore ineligible to be a nominee for the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ Best New Artiste category. Jay Bahd and his staff have been advised that the problem has been fixed. The board wish to apologize to the general public for the inconvenience very much.
Austin Woode, an Academy member, is to be sincerely thanked by the Board for using the Errors and Omissions portal to assist in resolving this omission. We are incredibly appreciative of everyone’s participation, submissions, and efforts during this temporary window of one week. We believe that this will result in a more reliable plan for the sector.
The award scheme organizers would want to inform interested parties and the general public of the VGMA Review, which is set to take place 90 days following this year’s edition. Thus, anyone with suggestions or objections to the plan should kindly email info@ghanamusicawards.com.
