New reporting date for 2022 BECE graduates – GES.
New reporting date: Academic activities for first-year students will start on February 27, 2023, according to the Ghana Education Service (GES), who previously announced February 20, 2023, as the second cycle school reporting date for 2022 BECE graduates.
Speaking at a press briefing monitored by our editorial team, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Eric Nkansah said students from February 20 can report to schools for admission registration or enrollment.
“Per the academic calendar, the first-year students are to report to school on February 20. So, from February 20 students can report to school for registration. Orientation and academic activity will commence February 27,” he said.
Giving statistics of the released school placement, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Eric Nkansah said out of the 547,329 who sat for the national examination, 538,399 qualified for school placement.
“A total of 37,780 students representing 69.24% have been automatically placed in one of their school choices while some over 165,619 who could not be matched with any of their selected choices are to do self-placement,” he said.
How to check 2023 school placement at cssps.gov.gh
- Visit the school placement portal
- Click on check placement
- Enter your Index number
- Enter your 10-digit E-voucher pin and
- Enter your 5-digit pin code
- Click on proceed and wait a few minutes for the next window to display your school placement.
How to do self-placement at cssps.gov.gh
- Visit the computer school placement portal
- Then select the check placement module on the left-hand side
- Enter your BECE Index Number (eg. 100000000022) and
- Enter your 10-digit E-voucher pin and
- Enter your 5-digit pin code
- Click on Proceed to be redirected to the self-placement module
When redirected successfully to the Self-placement module, you will be provided with a selection of schools to pick from based on the aggregate or grade you had in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
- Choose carefully your desired second cycle school
- Choose your residential preference (Day/Boarding).
- Select your Programme of choice
- After doing all the necessary checks, confirm and print. Remember that once you have completed the selection process it can not be undone or changed
