SHS Students refused to show up for class: Because of the unrest in the region, several pupils who have been assigned to senior high schools inside the Bawku Municipality have refused to enrol.

The admissions offer made to the students who were listed there have now been declined.

The children who would accept admission would go through counselling, according to Kofi Ayamga Anamboyine, the Upper East Regional Coordinator for the Free Senior High School Programme, in an interview with Citi News.

Several Ghanaians, including some Islamic scholars, have urged the natives to lay down their guns to promote peace.
