Tell the NPP you will not compromise your principles or integrity: Fiifi Kwetey to EC and SC

Fiifi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has advised two important state institutions, the Supreme Court and the Electoral Commission (EC), not to compromise their responsibilities in order to please the ruling party.

He emphasized the need for them to fulfill their duties without bias.

During a Thanksgiving Rally in the Assin North constituency, Kwetey delivered a message urging the Supreme Court and the EC not to compromise their principles.

He emphasized that they should refuse any attempts by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to influence their decisions, and instead, protect the integrity of the nation.

Background for his statement

James Gyakye Quayson, the Member of Parliament for Assin North, expressed his gratitude to his constituents for electing him based on their own convictions.

Without succumbing to bribery or gifts from the NPP, which aimed to undermine their free will.

It is important to note that James Gyakye Quayson is currently facing trial for forgery, perjury, deceiving a public officer, and making false declarations when filing his nomination for the 2020 election, as he had not renounced his Canadian citizenship.

He has filed a motion at the High Court, seeking a stay of proceedings pending an appeal.
