The UHAS School of Pharmacy comprises six distinct departments, with three of them currently active. These departments play a crucial role in shaping the future of pharmacy education and research.

1. Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is dedicated to introducing students to the fascinating world of chemical interactions within living systems, particularly the human body.

This department focuses on understanding the properties and actions of drugs, including their interactions with receptors, and how these interactions can lead to therapeutic effects or adverse consequences.

Students in this department delve into various classes of drugs, their therapeutic applications, mechanisms of action, and how the human body regulates these substances.

This foundation equips students with knowledge in specialized areas like clinical pharmacology, neuropharmacology, and toxicology.

2. Department of Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutics, a fundamental discipline in pharmacy, is the science of designing dosage forms. It involves transforming pharmacologically active compounds into safe and effective medicinal products.
