UHAS Scholarships: The University of Health and Allied Sciences is a public university that focuses on training health professionals. The university is located in Ho in the volta region and another campus cited in Hohoe.
UHAS Scholarships: The university has many scholarships opportunities including Emefa A. Adawudu Foundation Scholarship, Dora Gertrude Quaye Scholarship.
Students can also apply for for the GNPC Scholarship, GET-Fund Scholarships, Mastercard foundation scholarship, MTN Scholarship among others
This scholarship is to be awarded to selected students to support their educational living expenses, as part of the aim of the foundation to improve female education and gender advocacy in Ghana.
About Dora Gertrude Quaye Scholarship
A scholarship programme has been established by Professor Margaret Gyapong, Director of the Institute of Health Research at the University of Health and associated Sciences (UHAS), to support female students and academics in the field of health and associated sciences.
With a seed grant of 20,000 euros, the Dora Gertrude Quaye Scholarship Fund—named after the late professor’s mother—was established to help UHAS’s female students who are academically gifted but in financial need.
About Emefa A. Adawudu
Emefa Awo Adawudu is a Ph.D. in nursing student at the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Miss Emefa is a registered nurse who accumulated experience in medical and surgical nursing in Ghana.
Her research interest is in self-management practices among people with type 2 Diabetes mellitus.
She is dedicated to conducting studies aimed at improving quality of life and reducing diabetes complications of persons living with type 2 diabetes to enhance evidence-based self-management practices.
Miss Emefa also spends time on gender empowerment and advocacy related projects.
Students who qualify for this scholarship must:
- Have enrolled in UHAS for at least one (1) semester.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Have good academic credentials.
- Have demonstrated financial need.
- Not be a Women’s Commissioner.
