WAEC begins registration for GABCE: In a social media post sighted by our editorial team, the non-profit organization (WAEC) stated that potential candidates may visit its official website waecgh.org for comprehensive information on the examination registration procedure.
WAEC begins registration for GABCE: The registration period for the General and Advance Business Certificate Exams (G/ABCE) in May and June 2023 has begun. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the G/ABCE registration will end on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
Eligibility for GBCE
The General Business Certificate Examination is open to both school and private candidates, that is, students who attend schools that prepare them for the exam and students who study privately for the exam.
Eligibility for ABCE
The Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) is available to School Candidates as well as candidates who study privately for the examination.
Candidates who have obtained passes in the relevant subjects at the GCE ‘O’ Level/SSSCE/WASSCE/General Business Certificate/Royal Society of Arts Stage II/London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Stage II Level may be considered eligible candidates for the examination.
Registration
December to February is the entry period, which is three months. The candidates’ entry information must be uploaded online and registered by the school authorities.

Certificate
A candidate who secures at least a pass in one of the exam’s subjects is given the General Business Certificate. A candidate gets the Group Certificate if they pass all of the pertinent subjects in one session.
A certificate for each topic passed is given to a candidate who is unable to meet the requirements for the award of a group certificate.
Condition for the award of Diploma
A candidate who passes all three compulsory and two optional subjects in two sittings within a maximum period of two calendar years from the date of the first registration will be awarded a DIPLOMA certificate.
A candidate who is unable to obtain a pass in all the Subjects within the stipulated period of two years from the date of the first registration will be issued single
