Who wins the UNSUNG Artist Award: TsaQa, a dancehall singer nominated for this year’s Unsung Artiste category at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, has said that the contest has evolved into a two-man battle between himself and DSL.
Who wins the UNSUNG Artist Award: TsaQA feels that the other contenders lacked the skills necessary to win the Unsung Artiste category. He made these incredibly bold assertions when he appeared on the 3FM Drive with AJ Sarpong on Wednesday.
He noted that although Tsaqa and DSL were competing as artists, Hitz Music and Lynx Entertainment were vying for the awards.
The Dancehall performer claimed that he earned the Unsung Award because he put in the effort that got him to where he is now.

“Everyone else should return to bed. We deserve it since we have worked hard. I don’t understand what they’re doing with the remainder, Tsaqa said gravely. “I’m not here to beat about the bush; I came to say it as it is,” he said. Even the head of Lynxx entertainment is aware of our efforts.
During the 24th VGMAs, past Mentor X winner DSL responded to the claim that the competition was a two-man game by saying that while the two were good, every nominee posed a danger to his achievement.
“I feel Tsaqa is my rival because of the genre we both find ourselves in, but I believe anyone in that category is also a big danger since it takes more than just the music to win it,” he told AJ Sarpong.
The Charterhouse Unsung Artiste Award is a Charterhouse programme supported by Closeup Total Fresh Protection. It acknowledges and celebrates rising Ghanaian musicians for their hard work and devotion to their music, as well as providing a platform for them to reach a broader audience.
DSL, TsaQa, Niashun, Maya Blu, Aya Ramzy B, and Boi Jake are among the contenders this year.
